All there is to Know on the Similarities and Differences between the Translation and Interpretation Services
Put very basically, interpretation services are used to facilitate a conversation between two parties who speak different languages trying to hold a conversation while translation services are particularly those which involve the taking of a document and having it rewritten in another language in its preciseness and with as much clarity as possible in another language. Looking at it that way may make it seem like the two do not have such big difference but in actual practice, it is a big difference. We are getting into the actual differences and the bear similarities that these two really have to give us in the following parts of the article.
We will first see how the timing for the services tends to set them apart. It is a fact that the translation services are always given by the service oftentimes in private and over some period of time while for the interpretation services, you will have them in the very time of the conversation, even as the conversation takes place. The translation services are as well known for the fact that they do not need a fast thinking individual to perform them and they are as well known to benefit from the craft of a writer who is generally slow but thorough with his work. Translation has a more particular emphasis on the quality of the work in the text being and staying correct as opposed to having a mere interpretation of the meaning of the communication of the speakers.
In contrast to this, interpretation services are more concerned with helping the information from one person in a conversation moving in an as easy manner as possible. The interpreter needs to have a very good knowledge of how tone and inflection works its way into an individual speech and the varied assumptions that are part of the language and communication styles for the different cultures and languages of the parties they are serving for interpretation. However, in actual sense an interpreter will not be able to approach his services with such an equal measure of care as a translator would have and will be particularly focused on rendering the meaning to facilitate the flow of the conversation between the two parties in the conversation without losing significant meaning. Thus in this we find that a good interpreter should basically have the qualities of being a fast think who can do it with ease while on course with the conversation or debate as contrasted to the fact that a translator must not necessarily be in possession of the traits of being a fat thinker but meticulous with their production. The interpreter as well needs to have the additional qualities of ability to work with people and have the ability to read their minds as a step to ensure that they actually have their true intents passed across.
